OUR JOURNEY FROM APRIL 1995 TO MARCH 2012

Sometimes in the year 1990, Enrico had decided to retire from the competitive tennis and had planned to start his new career as a coach. He had started visiting USA and the different countries in Europe to take up the short term and long term coaching assignments. After gaining the experiences for 5 years Enrico had decided to start his own coaching centre in his very own city in Kolkata. So, Our journey had started in the name of “ENRICO PIPERNO TENNIS CENTRE” association with Ordnance Club in the year 1995 to provide world class training to club members, service staff and budding young tennis players of the city of Kolkata. Every year we had tried to host a national level tennis tournament to develop the level of tennis not only at the ordnance club but also in Bengal.

NEW ERA FROM 2012…..

After completion of 17 years of our journey we had decided to set up “ENRICO PIPERNO TENNIS TRUST” on February 2012 as a public charitable trust inter alia for the purpose of development and promotion of Tennis. The trust has been established for the benefit of the citizens of India without discrimination of caste, religion, creed or sex.

To keep our motto as top priority to provide world class training centre in Kolkata, we had decided to make a major revamp in the INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT BY THE TRUST AT THE ORDNANCE CLUB TENNIS ARENA FROM 2012 TO 2013. During this period we had spent approx. Rs. 28 Lakhs for making new Wire Fencing around the 3 courts, Repairing & painting of entire boundary wall, Entire reconstruction of drainage system around the 3 courts, major overhauling of the 3 clay courts (To give the feel of French open courts), New back screen, making new office, installation of international standard flood light with new fittings, accessories and poles, construction of new store room and the room for one permanent ground maintenance staff, installation of new borewell pump for watering the tennis courts, construction of new shade and the laying of new tiles on the floor of the gallery area.

The Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust is already registered under Section 12A and 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961. It is also registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India for undertaking the CSR activities.
