Our Mission

The Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust was founded with the mission to promote and develop the game of tennis in India. Since inception the team of the Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust has been working very hard to fulfill its objective and to grow so that so that we can support and help more and more youngsters to excel in the game of tennis who otherwise cannot come forward due to lack of financial support and opportunity.

At the outset we selected 4 junior players, 3 from West Bengal and the 4th from Assam and had provided them round the full sponsorship from the year 2012 until 2020.

*Sanil Jagtiani – from West Bengal joined our program as a 9 year old and went on to become a member of India’s Junior Davis Cup team. He is currently on a a full tennis scholarship in Drexel University U.S.A, playing no. 1 singles and has been voted Athlete of the year.

*Ishaque Eqbal- from West Bengal joined our program as a 10 year old and went on to achieve a career high ranking of no. 5 in the under 16 category no. 6 in the under 18 category of the Al India rankings. A National Men’s Doubles winner, Ishaque is currently ranked no 10 in the All India Men’s Singles Ranking and have won the Gold Medal in the National Games 2025. He is now an officer in Indian Navy.

*Parikshit Somani- from Assam joined us a 12 year old and was selected by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to be a part of an International touring team travelling to tournaments in Europe and U.S.A. He is currently an active player on the Men’s Tennis circuit and have been winning major titles in the Men’s Doubles category.

*Yubrani Banerjee- of West Bengal joined us as a 13 year old without a ranking and has since had an unpressured junior and senior career. She reached a career high of no. 8 in the All India Rankings under 18 category. She was ranked no 10 in the women’s Singles in 2018 and has subsequently been employed by the Indian Railways.

At present we are providing round the year full sponsorship to the 5 leading players from Bengal namely:

*Aleena Farid :- She is 14 years old and is already ranked no. 1 in Bengal under 14 & 16 years. She is also in top 20 in All India Ranking in the under 14 years category. She is also having the International junior ranking (1259 in under – 18 years). She had recently participated in the ITF Junior world tennis tournament (Under 18 years) at Raipur and she was the finalist in Doubles.

*Sankalp Sahani :- Sankalp is also 14 years old. He has been training in our centre since he was 7 years old. He is currently ranked no. 1 in under – 14 years and ranked no. 5 in under – 16 years in the state of West Bengal. He is also ranked within top 10 in India in Under – 14 years. He was the finalist in singles and winner in Doubles in the just concluded Asian Junior Championship (Under 14 years) held at Kolkata.

*Shriyansh Sahani :- Shriyansh is 16 years old. He has been training in our centre since he was 9 years old. He had a double crown by winning singles and doubles title in under-16 years category of the All India ranking tournament in Kolkata.

*Ayush Ghorai :- Ayush is presently 17 years old and he belongs to an extremely low income group family and being fully supported by the Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust since he was 10 years old. He is regularly participating major All India Ranking Tournament of under – 18 years and Men’s Category. He is currently won the Doubles title in All India Ranking Junior Tournament held at Gurugram.

*Ahsaan Alam:- Ahsaan is 16 years old and he is also from an extremely low income group family and being fully supported by the Trust since he was 11 years old. He is currently participating major state and All India Ranking Tournament regularly. He was the winner in Doubles in under 18 years event in the All India Ranking Junior Tournament held at Gurugram.

The Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust have handpicked deserving junior tennis players who are trained at the Ordnance Club. They undergo intense training in 2 sessions, morning and evening under the guidance of certified National tennis coaches and fitness trainers.

In the past ten years the Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust are proud of the fact that their trainees have achieved high National rankings in the country and continue to excel in major National and International tournaments. In 2019, the Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust had been awarded the Dilip Bose Tennis Centre of the Year for the “Best Tennis Academy of Eastern India” award from the Bengal Tennis Association.
