Introductory Tennis Program in Schools

Enrico Piperno former National Champion, Davis Cup and Fed Cup coach of India and former coach of Mahesh Bhupathi. The Enrico Piperno Tennis Trust (EPTT) is in the process of developing Progressive Tennis and other sports in various states of the country. With a growing database EPTT has established a strong coaching platform whereby children and adults can learn and enjoy the game at an EPTT tennis academy taught by trained EPTC professionals.

Coaching Systems for grooming India’s talent

EPTT has introduced in India Progressive Tennis, a tennis program for 4-9 year old’s which allows young players to learn and play the game more quickly, efficiently and successfully. It uses a systematic progression of court sizes, balls and rackets to scale the game down to an appropriate level for 4-9 year olds. It is imported from European countries such as France and Belgium where it was used to successfully develop players like Justine Henin- Hardenne and Oliver Rochus .

EPTT has also introduced Progressive Tennis which is aimed at children of classes I to V.

We aim to gainfully use the PE period in member schools to provide constructive and meaningful sports exposure to young children in Tennis. This would ensure a broad cross training at an early age, in terms of general fitness, motor skills, hand eye co ordination, muscle memory etc. This would be done in a way that makes Tennis attractive and a lot of fun.  At the same time we would look to inculcate the basics of this sport in the children and provide them a ‘feel’ for the game at a very early age.

Please find enclosed our detailed offer for a supervised program during school hours.

Tennis Coaching

Tennis coaching will include a full day (natural light) of activities designed to meet the needs of the students of the school.

During School Hours

The EPTT Coaching team in co-ordination with the existing school curriculum will design a Tennis program for all students (Grade I to Grade V) during school hours. The Introductory Tennis in Schools Program is designed to introduce the sport of tennis during school hours. The program will familiarize students with the rules and core fundamentals of the sport through a Games Based Approach of learning tennis.

The Games Based approach will utilize the fundamentals of Introductory Tennis training to a large group of children at one time. The advantage of this programme is that the child learns and develops various skills related to fitness, co-ordination, balance, footwork, concentration, dynamic and static balance, hand – eye co-ordination, agility & speed. Thus preparing and helping in making him a well balanced and coordinated individual for society.

Each student during their physical education period who has enrolled for the Introductory Tennis In School Program, will have two sessions per week (4 – 8 sessions per month).
